in a like time either lielore or sine»-. It
was during Judge Siblev’s administra
tion that the plan was adopted of av far
as posihle doing away with wooden
bridges and nutting in sewer pipes and
permanent nils By this policy alone
the county was saved thousands of dol
lars every year that would otherwise be
required in keeping up bridges. Judge
Sibley before made good on every anti-
election pledge that he made. He had
the county b.>oks exported each year so
that at all times any voter that cared to
know could tell just how the couutv
stood financially. Judge Sibley in ask
ing the votes of the people this time
pledges himself that if elected he will
use every effort to improve the county
rna Is, not of some particular sec-1ion « t
the county, but of the whole county,
and will make such improvements in «
'substantial, |>ermanent manner ami
will see that the work progresses as fast
: as it is possible consistent with reason*
I able taxation, and as Judge Sibl-v
\ “ made good” on every pledge be made
, I n fore, we have every reason to believe
; that lie will do so again.
During the present administration
the road work of the countv has not re
ceived the attention that we believe it
was entitled to. When we consider
that tin* county was turned over by
Judge Sibley practically free from debt.
I that the state tales have until this
year, lieen much lower, that thousands
of acres of timber land has lieen subject
to taxation that was not previously tax
able, and that general taxes have been
higher and more revenue lias been rais
ed for the county than ever before in
the history of the county, and yet there
ha* not been as much permanent road
wan k done as there was during the ad
ministration of Judge Sibley.
Taking all these tilings into consider
ation, we believe the voters will make a
gn at mistake if they do not see to it
that Judge Sibley is elected County
Judge.
