Sheridan.

ing of the death of Uncle Henry How
ell at Sheridan lant night. Mr. Rowell
is a brother of Mr. ( ’. G. Howell, of this
city, and Mrs. Henrietta Ellis, of Salem,
ami resided here some 20 yearn ago.
He was aged »Unit 78 years, and his
death w : ih the direct result of a stroke
of apoplexy about a month ago. He
leave» a widow and ten children, the
majority of whom are residents of this
county. They are Mrs. J . S. Pettijolm,
Mrs. Hart Trullinger, Mrs. K. Matilding,
Mrs. Hattie Mendenhall, Miss Joan
Howell: Lee Howell, ('lay Rowell, Rons,
Howell, Willis Howell, Kugene and
Charley Howell. The deceased came
from low in the early fiOties, and has
resided in Yamhill and Polk counties
continuously since. The funeral will
occur from the family home tomorrow
at 1 :30 under the auspices of the Ma
sons, of which order deceased has been
a member for many years.
