Dallas people were shocked^ Sunday
morning when the news was brought to '
town that Clarence Fisher, the 18-year-
old son of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Fisher,
had been shot by tlie accidental dis
charge «if a gun in the hands of Floyd I
Myer, with whom he was out hunting
near Smithfield. Medical aid was at
once summoned and everything possible
done to save the life of the unfortunate
young man but the shock and loss of
blood were too much for even his ex
ceedingly strong constitution, and he
succumbed to his injuries during the «f-
ternoon. It aeeirti that while hunting
Floyd had just fired at some game, aim
in attempting to eject the shell, it stuck
fast. While trying to get it out, Clar
ence stepped in front and the gun went
off, lie receiving the entire load in his
right arm at close range. Floyd at
once assisted Clarence to liis home and
the doctors were summoned. The fu
neral was held at 10 o’clock Tuesday,
ami another victim laid away as a re
sult of the hunting fever, which annual
ly claims some of the many devotees to
the sport. Ciarepce Fisher was raised
here and was a young man with many
friends and was greatly esteemed by all
who knew him for his many good quali
ties of heart and mind. That lie should

greatly regretted by all, and his par

profound sympathy of all. Mr. Myer

the accident, and is inconsolable over
the fact that he was the innocent in
strument causing the death of
