Ran Over Boy.
Struck down by an autom obile S atu r­
day afternoon, two little boys m iracu
lously escaped fatal in ju ry when the big
Cadilac, No. 1369, owned and driven
by S. P. K im ball, rolled over them .
The boys are the sons of A. Lent* of
South Salem, aged 13 and 11 respective­
ly, and the elder of th e two, G ustav
Lentz, had his ankle bruised and was
badly sm-.ken up, but apparently suffer­
ed no serious injury. His brother es­
caped w ithout injury. The accident
occitred shortly after noon when the lit­
tle fellows were just passing from around
the Orang Outang te n t a t t#ie corner of
State and Com mercial streets, as Mr.
K im ball, a prom inent Polk countv far­
m er, came down th e street. N either
saw the other and the accident ap p ar­
ently did not show carelessness on either
side. The children were taken into the
rear of C. T. Pom eroy’s jewelry store,
where Dr. Fisher dressed the inju n es

Young Men’s Sunday,
Sunday, Ju ly 18tli, will be observed
in Dallas as young m en’s Sunday. A
rich and eleborate program lias been
planned for th e day and everyone, but
especially th e young men and those in ­
terested in young m en, are bidden to
this feast of good things th a t will be
provided by speakers from Portland,
Salem and other points. At 11 a. in.
representatives of th e Young Men’s
C hristian association from Salem and
Portland will speak in the various
churches. At 3 p. in. there will be a
mass m eeting for men only a t the Wood­
man hall and a t th e sam e hour a m eet­
ing for boys from 12 to 18 at the Presby­
terian church. This m eeting will l>e
addressed by Clarence Sprague of P o rt­
land, who is indeed one of the boys.
At 8 p. m. there will be a union m eet­
ing and stereoptican lecture illustrating
the work of th e Young M en’s C hristian
association in its world wide features.
