There was a slimly attended citizens
meeting Tuesday evening to discuss
the new school house proposition. A
variety r f opinions wore advanced,
some of them wise and some other
wise. Dallas is destined to he a town
attractive in apperance and of business
importance. It will probably become
an educational center and should have
a public school building that its citi
zens could point to with pride. Patch
ing up the old school house would
not be a stop in that direction and it
would be false economy to erect a
small cheap building. Nor would it
lie wise te scatter school houses over
the town. Probably the most reason
able idea advanced is the one to erect
an eight room structure and finish o n
ly the four lower rooms at present.
It might be done for $0,000 and ivatild
surely be economy in tiro long run.
