But i There ii no character in human society so utterly execrable as the tattling MS* ■ 0 33 gossip; and yet there is scarcely any com m unity that is not cursed with more or less of these Vipers in human form. T he wise man has truthfully sa id ," the poison o f caps is un der their tongue There are som e per sona in every society who seem never so happy as when they are dipping their slimy tongue into the foul pool o f scandal, and plastering it upon som e poor unsus pecting victui. A n d what is worse than all, these social reptiles find too many social circles among the better classes, vrhsfe their foul insinuations and out-spo- ken slanders arq, at least, listened to , if not willingly received and com m ented upon. Theae scandalous gossips are n ot cou- finen bo either sex. There are male s c al scavengers as well as female. M en who appear from their conversation never to breathe a pure breath, or entertain a pure thought in reference to others. Their whole nature seems to be a mass of fester ing corruption; and the rottenness of their own inwardness is forever cropping out in their conversation in reference to their neighbors. It is too often the cose, even when ladies meet together for a so csal hour, that they spend the time largely in discussing and casting reflections upon some absent female acquaintance. And while they do not intend to turn them selves into slanderers, yet jierliaps the victim of their aniiuadvemoim is quite as pure in moral character as eithur of these her tra d u ce»; and, though they have perhaps not intended it, yet by the in ainuations and in Us idoes which they have heaped upon her, they have smutted her good name in society for all time. And these slanderous w hispers of this select circle of gossips, which were never in tended to be repeated, will soon be found to have crystallised into real accusations against the person in question, to their infinite damage, to say nothing o f the untold mortification and suffering v.liich a pure woman feels when she wakes up to the fact that these persons, whom has supposed her friends, are in reality slanderous viiiliers, anil have tarnished her good name in tho society in which she mores. O f course no true ladies or gentlemen will allow themselves over, under any circumstances, to engage in this infam ous sort of business. A nd yet there are too many persons who pass current in society for ladies and gentlemen, who indulge constantly in this sort r f hateful gossip. I f ever~»ooiety shall bo organized upon a proper basis it will be by the enacting of laws banishing theso human mag-pics to some lone island of the sea, where they may enjoy their favorite em ployment o f biting and devouring oaoh other without annoyance to the decent portion o f the social body. Reader» of the the Commercial can not well forget that a lur^e «pace ha« for years been takee up by Kendall’« advertinenienta— especially of a certain Spavin Cure. We have hatl dealing« with Dr. Ivendall for many year« and the truth is fully and faithfully proven not only that he is a good hone«t man, and that his celebrated Spavin Cme is not only all that it is recommended to be, but that the Kngli.sh language is not capable of recommend ing it too highly Kendall's Spavin Cure will cure spavins. There are hundreds of cases in which that has been proven to our certain knowledge, but, after all, if any person confines the UHefnlm ss of this celebrated medicine to »lining spavins alone, they make a big mistake. It is the best medicine known as an outward applica tion for rheumatism in the human family. It is the best medicine known as an outward ap plication for rheumatism in the human family. It is good for pains and aches, swellings and lameness, and is just as safely appied to men women and children as it is to lurses. We know that there are other good liniment«, but we do believe this spavin cure to be far bet. er than any ever invented. In every case of Spavin, of which I have treated five it ha« killed tl ein all. and entirely removed them. I ease of splint 1 find it has no e»jual, one case I had was of three years standing removed it entirely One year ago a two hundred pound block of ice fell out of a wagon striking my foot on thk Instep and toes, it would be impossible to mash a foot worse without breaking any bone«. I was taken home and carried into the house. I d o not think amputation cf the leg would cause anv more pain. I went for Kendall’s Spavin Cure, it was all I used and in six days I could walk around. About thjae weeks ago my team ran away threw me out of the wagon, the hind whell struck my knee. After applying several kinds of liniments without obtaining any relief, I went for Kendal.s Spavin Cure. My leg was drawn up and my knee swollen badly. In three days»! was able to walk to the barn. 1 could go into details more fully, and make this a very long letter but will not weary you. I am very respectfully yours^ O scar F. H utchinson . P. O.
