Wo have been lo the county alliance
and had such a great time, and wo
must tell you unco again how glad wo
are that we have an "alliance" and
what a blessed pnvilego it is to belong
to il. Mow dear to our hearts aro
each and all the niiimbejs of the vari
ous sub-alliances, and with what pride
we surveyed the crowd of great, honest
men v .vho came as delegates from all
parts of the county. Truly the cream
of tho country is ours, and we are glad
and thankful that it is so.
There was, however, a great, over
sight in not having more ladies pres
ent, but Hig creek was in the lead
again mid sunt live ladies, four of
whom were in at tendance and voted
just Uh hard as they could.
Wo (the ladies) aro thankful to the
gontlunien of our lodge for giving us
their votes and thereby tho privilege
of attending tho county alliance. Wo
did all wo could to assist them in dis
charging their various, duties, and
hope wo will make as useful alliance
Workers as wo are successful wivus of
fai mors.
Wo have not had tho honor of help
ing in iko the laws wo aro to proud to
obuy, but wo have raised tho men and
implanted within them the principles,
tho integrity and nobility which makes
them men, and thereby fulfilled one
of (iod's commands, and our dearest
and most sacred mission on this earth.
Still it is within our power to givo
further assistance to thorn and be
truly, as Clod intended, a helpmate
and an equal.
Wo will bo so much better enter
tained when wo got into full working
order. At present wo aro ho young
and so overgrown ; wo tiro weak and
troubling, but soon wo will walk
straight and carry our parts with
dignity and honor to ourselves. Wo
will havo a better, cleaner place to
moot so we will not quite so much re
semble a school meeting,

uprising of right against wrong, and
iucoe.s already lies almost within her
grasp.
The members of tho alliunco should
constantly keep in mind that this is
the year for them to study and ac
quaint themselves with the great is
sues that aru being disoused. This is
tho educational year in that respect
with us, ami we must improve every
opportunity to become familiar with
our principles and demands, in order
for them to avail us anything. We
cannot allord to stand still. "Let us
thou be up and doing," and always
employ our best ellbrts to further our
cause.
