dred Haggerty, aged M years, daugh

fair way to recovery when a relapse
overtook her, which on account of her
onfebled state she was unable to sur
vive. Till this titno tho family circle
consisting of paronts and twelve inter
esting children has remained unbroken.

last as if to show what a short distance
tho most favored of mortals are from
trouble and how all earthly trials sink
into insignificancj when measured
with tho anguish of parting with a

and lilling, we managed to avoid his

ing the boats on until Captain Collin

they tried to stop us, and having what
somo people call "a jolly good time."

waters ot the harbor, plajed by a string
band that wo had hired for the night's
amusement, tho girls standing on the
shoro waving their handkerchiefs with
one hand and with their other hand
keeping tight hold of their dress pock

some strango transformation, all dis
appeared from our pockets into theirs.
Ah, mo! Those days when 1 shipped
as a sailor boy, just forty years ago.
