A CURIOSITY.
Mr. Geo. Huston, says a southern
Oregon exchange, brought to this of
fice a Cake of erystalizcd apples Satur
day! He had a number of sacks of ap
ples in the cellar under his grocery
store, which during the severe cold
weather froze Milid. Then came a thaw
and afterward tho water from tho ditch
backed up and filled the cellar. In a
short time Mr. Huston proceeded to re
move tho sacks of apples and was sur
prised to find them still solid with a
thick covering of ice about the fruit
which when taken from their erystal
izcd coating, were found to be as good
as they were before being frozen, re
taining their flavor and solidity and
ready for market.

blackmail, was found guilty and sen
tenced to two years imprisonment in
