is considered by pome to ho nn alarm
nE tendency that may necessitate
almost (i complete revolution in Amer
ican jurisprudence. It is especially
fenreu that wealthy criminals may
avail themselves of this facility to
virtually block the wheels of justice,
for ordinarily the (supremo court is
three years behind its business.
Many of the capes now before the
court are of tho gravest importance,
particularly the liquor trials from
Kansas, Iowa and Georgia, which in
volve the constitutionality of state pro
hibition, and the question whether or
not tho states are pecuniarily rcsponsi
bio for the destruction of the business
of the liciuor dealers; the cases of the
Chicago Anarchists now being argued,
and which will probably be decided
long before this letter reaches its ties

in Isovcmber.
Many of the congressmen who are

Washington, thus congressmen whose
incomes are limited must either con
serve all their salary on current ex

triumphs of the Capital's gay social
life. On the other hand, most of the
wealthy members do not calculate on
saving anything out of their salaries.

seven boxes Bucklcu's Arnica Salve, and my

WHAT AM I TO DO?
The symptoms of IllliouMiehs are unhap
pily but too well known. They dlfl'er in
different individuals to some extent. A
Pillions man is seldom a breakfast eater.
Too frequently, alas, he has an excellent ap
petite for liquids but none for solids of a
morning. Ill tongue will hardly hear in
spection at any lime; If it is not white and
furred, it is rough, at all events.
The digestive system is wholly out of or
der and Diarrhea or Constipation may be a
symptom or the two may alternate. There
arc often Hemorrhoids or even loss of blood.
There may be giddiness and eften headache
and acidity or flatulence and tenderness in
the pit of the stomach. To correct all this
if not effect a curl-try Green's Aupust Flower,
it costs but a trille and thousands attest its
elllcaey.

Nervous Exhaustion.
A Few Useful Hints For
Nervous People.
"I am so nervous" is a very common ex
pression, used by both old and young: and
very few can now be found who are free
from nervous troubles. We tegret to see
that the malady Is rapidly increasing. And
from whatcause? There arc various reas
ons. It may be beuause of a low condition
of the general health; the vitillty of tlie
nervous tystcni is depressed; or from a
want of perfect digestion and assimiliation
of food, and the vltilizlng power of pure,
rich blood, the nerves arc not properly
strcnthened and noursbed,and consequent
ly become weak and diseased
There was a time when "nervousness,''
and that class of disease known as nervous
affections, were apparently confined to
ladies; but at the present day it is an un
doubted fact that as large a portion of ner
vous diseases esist among men as among
the gentler sex; and their distressing affects
and lasting and enervating results are a
thousand fold more serios, ax they extend
to posterity and are productive of a weak
ened and enfeebled race. Nervous and
physical debility, caused by
is a frerpicnt and distressing disease, its de
pressing inlluence being felt alike on both
sexes and ullages. Among the first sym
ptons of this afTection are usually a de
rangement of the digestive organs. A feel
of languor will be experienced, and a grad
ual falling of strength, with general weak
nessand pain in the back. Morcor lesR cx
haustation is experienced on" waking in the
themornsng. There is often a bad taste in
tlx. mouth; the vision becomes dim, the
luemoiy is impaired, and the patient is
troubled with frequent dizziness. Persons
thus affected arc often despondent, and
ruffer from gloom and depression of the
mind. The nerves become so weakened
that the least excitement or shock brings on
atremoror trembling, often attended by
palpatation ef the heart.
LADIES
Are particularly susceptible to nervous
disorders, owing partly to their more
delicate nervous organisation nnd partly
to their sedentary life and consequent
confinement in-doors. Such affections are
attended by rtstlcssness.and nervous excite
ment, anxiety or depression of the mind,
loss of interest in society and the daily af
fairs of life. There is elso loss of sleep;
the patient on rising in the morning, feel
ing tired, languid and unref reshed. From
slight nervous attacks to hysteria, from sim
ple "nervousness" to utter prostration,
there arc many and varied forms of diseae(s
of the nervous system none of which should
exist, and of all of which can be .cured by
tho use of
