Lew Johnson's Colored Minstrels gave a
well received entertainment to a crowded hall
last night. The singing, chorus and ballad,
was fine, while "Mamma's Black Baby Boy"
and plantation delineations took the audience

Echo seems to have had his gall turned over
by Rev. Ingle of late. We venture the" re
mark that Mr. Ingle has done as much real
irood morally for this citv as the criticising

Lew Johnson's Colored Company appeared
at the opera house last night in one of their
concert performances and entertained their au
dience in a pleasing and satisfactory way. They
caused considerable merriment and were fre
quently applauded. They are sure to please

On last Monday the annual city election
took place. Everything passed off quietly,
with good feeling on all side. Three tickets

Bend December 24, 1 886, after a lingering
illness of about 25 years. She. was a patient
sufferer, and, has now entered into the rest of
the redeemed at God's right hand. ,. ;

Prof. James E-eMoss died in this city Tuesday
December 28th, 1S86, aged 46 years, 5 months
and I day. The funeral sevices were conduc
ted by Rev; G. W. Miller. Her relatives and
friends deeply mourn her loss.
