AughtUo practice saving souiet'iing.
Many boys and cuds of to-day hard
iy-Ki;ow a n'guer. usrt.ior any money
that conies into thei; hands limn spend
ing it for some fooliah thing as quickly
as possible.
f o such a lesson in s'df-detiial and
eco .ovny is veiy important.
As go the. boy's penni'-s and dimes,
so, very likely, will gj tlie man's do!
laisand humlreJs by and hy.
Witl 011: having the spirit of miser,
the. person:, accustomed to save has
more plaasiii e in laying up than the
spendthrift ever knows.
The way to keep money is to earn it
f iirly and honestljv
Money so ottained is pretty certain
to abide with its possessor.
But money that is inherited, or that
in any way conies without a fair and
just equivalent, is almost ct rtain to go
as it came.
The yonnj man who begins saving a
few dollars a mouth, and thriftly in
creases his store every coin being a
representative of good, solid work, hon
estly and manfully done stands a
better chance to spend the last half of
his life in alilu ;nce and comfort, than
he who, in .his .haste to become rich,
obtains monry b? dashing speculations,
or the devious means which abound in
the foggy regio.a lying .between fair
dealing and actual fraud.
Amoung the wise3t and most thrifty
men of wealth, the currant proverb is,
money goes as it comes.
Let the young make a note of this
nnd see that their money comes fairly,
.that it may long abide with them,
