in Roseburff, on account of the high
license. Three hundred dollars j year
is now required by the City Council
for tho right to vend liquors in less

Those persons, we cannot call them
men, who expose their persons in bath
ing outside the city limits are likely to
come to grief. The families who have
suffered this nuisance are going to sup
press it by law or otherwise. ;
We are certainly sorry .that our fel
low citizen Louis Beltiis was compelled
to make an assignment. That terrible
plague fire did the work. However

ture was 59.2 degrees ; the highest
temperature was 84.7 degrees on the
27th: and that the prevailing direc

"West Side," a paper published at In-

about Rosebuag, has this to say: "We
found good quarters by being scattered
among the different houses, and it was
rather amusing to see the Good Tem
plars collect in the morning at the ho
tel for breakfact as they nearly all
boarded there. The McClallen House
was their headquarters, and a good
house it is."
