open for business today on Sec

vacated by the express office.

On Tuesday, Nov. 17th, the
will of the late Prof. Geo. Coote
was filed for probate and shows
an estate valued at $14,000. The

. Miss-Edith Casteel, of OAG,
returned Saturday from a visit
in Portland, with Mr. and Mrs.
J. E. Coleman, the latter of whom
was formerly Miss Sadie. Dixon,
a popular Corvallis girl. Miss
Casteel left yesterday for her
home at Yaquina to spend the
Thanksgiving vacation.
Clay Gilbert has accepted a
position as pharmacist in a LiU
gene drug store. Mr. Gilbert is
one of Corvallis' best young men
and has many 'friends' in this
city by whom his departure will
be regretted. He is a competent
business , man and is bound to
succeed in our sister city.
We are pleased to note that
Mr E- D. Lunt, formerly con
nected with the Gazette office,
has returned from California and
has accepted a position as fore
man on the "Semaphone" a new
paper at Silverton. Mr. ' Lunt
