Consumptives Made Comfortable.
Incipient consumption is cured by
Fnley's Honey and Tar, but we do not
hold out talsehopes to consumptives by
claiming that it will cure that dread dis
ease in the advanced stages ; but if the
lungs are not too far gone Foley's Honey
and Tar will effect a cure, as it stops the
racking cough and sooths the inflamed
air passages giving them a chance to
heal, and even the advanced stages it
always gives comfort, and relief. A. A.

that this has cured consumption in the

While the O AC team is bat
tling with Berktlev on the Cali
fornia field, there will be a gridi
ron a'?ei in progress on tae local
grounds. It will be the annual
combat between the Junior and
bemor classes and no doubt will
be an interesting game. Accord
ing to the precedent set by form
er games of the kind there will be
no first or second team men al
lowed to play. Both teams will
be composed of players who are
apprentices at the" business, which
will, make the contest all the
more interesting to witness. A
bunch of men representing each
class may be noticed at work
every evening in anticipation of
the struggle.
The Seniors have the heavier
line and Itnore individual stars
but whether they can advance the
ball agaiust the Juniors' forma
tion will not be decided until
next Saturday afternoon. Hen
richs, the 225 pound man from
Hood River certainly will . do
stunts at center and the remain
der of the line will be taken care
of by'big men.
The Juniors are not fortunate
enough to have so much beefsteak
along the frontier but the men
filling those positions will work
hard in upholding the honors of
tneir class.
It will be a game worth seeine.
It will be a lineup such as never
appeared on the local gridiron.

SUSTAINS BULL-FIGHTING.
Young King of Spain Classifies Torre-
ros with Players of the
Drama.
Madrid. King Alfonso has stamped
bull-fighting with the seal of approval
not to be questioned.
Recently the young ruler gave forth
an edict to the effect that the Scrip
tural injunction that on six days only
one may labor was the law of Spain
as well as the law of God.
Thereupon arose an outcry for fear
that this .might apply to bull-fighting,-but
promptly it was announced that
since the bull-fighters did not labor on
the other six days they were within
the letter of the law even were it
not that they were artists and not
artisans.
According to the proclamation the
torreros rank with the olayers of the
semi-sacred dramas, whose work is
also exempted from the restrictions of
the law, and they are officially de
clared to be artists, a fact which is no
doubt gratifying to the heroes of the
bull ring.

Edward C. Stokes, governor of New

this littie matter when I come in again,"
explained Gov. Stokes to the cashier:
"I'm President Roosevelt and. You'll
