a sunny location, as they usually .are,. ,
shade may be easily provided byplac--

lid and the board for an air space. If
it is not desired that thfc bees swarm,
plenty of hive room should be provided,
and if swarms are desired a little
.crowding will usually start the new
colony off. Of course, honey storing is
abandoned during the swarming period,
and care should be taken to furnish
every facility for hiving the swarms as
quickly as possible so that they will re
turn to business., Hives set near a few
dwarf pear trees are well located, for
nine times out of ten the swarm will .
