Holmes, of Salt Lake precinct, met at the

primaries, there being no one prescut to repre
sent either party, Mr. Holmes felt it his duty
to see that his precinct was not left unrepre
sented ; ho called the mooting to order, then
came down from the stand and made an en
thusiastic speech for both parties, then pro
ceeded to imminato and e'ect delegates to'attond
the County Conventions of both parties ; then
feeling the thing had been a perfect suci83s
shook hands with the old school house, and
started home. It is due to Mr. Holmes to
say: that on his homo he gavo certificates
