Henshaw, the man who froze his feet a few
months . since,' is rapidly recovering both in
mind and body. He feels very confident that

Miss Scriber and Miss Watt, who have 'been
employed as teachers in the Dallas School,
for some time past, left on Thursday for their
homes in Sdeni. They; in common with
Miss Sarah Shreve of this plaee, hare merited
and received the good will of this community
for their efforts in advancing the pupils under

The celebration at Dixie was all that could
have been anticipated-. The day was delight

singing by the glee clubs well, it just beat
everything. The exercises were commenced
with prayer by the Rov. Mr. Sears. Dr. Jeff
rics read the Declaration in good rhetorical
style. Mr. Levi Leland, the "Hermit of
Oregon City," was Orator of tbe Day, and for
about two hours interested tho audience in his
own humorous style. After dinner the crowd
came together again, und shoit speeches were
made by Dr. Jeffries, Mr. Leland, and Pn.f.
ltutau. Taken all in all it was a time to look
back to with pleasure.
