rilllE ENFORCEMENT OF THIS UNPp.
JL u!ar rule at ttio late Agricultural Fair,
although a source of great. anti"yatce to visit
ors and of vexation to Marshals, was not en
tirely barren of good rculN, especially to 1 1
people of this vicinity who are s;igaei,.in
enough to profit by the facts developed. It
seems that in ejecting parties liot&tiug the
rule, the Marshals found great difficulty in
sotne case by reason of the clothing of the
offenders giving way. while others more roughly
handled were removed from th ground with
out the least iujury to their clothing. Thin
mystery was solved by the Marshals when
they found on investigation, that the clothing
which stood firm under the sturdy giip of the
officers was purchased (with the exception of
one velvet suir)at thestore of Murphy A Croas
man, in the bank building, corner of State and
Commercial st., Salem. wher a good supply of
the auio kind of clothing is always on hand,
together with a full assortment of fashionable
hats and gents' furnishing goods. 33tf.

Probably never before in the whole history of
medicine, has anything won so widely and so deeply
upon the confidence of mankind, as tins excellent
remedy for pulmonary complaints. Through a long
series "of years, and among most of the races of
men it haa risen higher and higher in their estima

character and power to cure the various affections
of the lungs and throat, have made it known as a re
liable protector (igaimt them. W hile adapted to
milder forms of lieae and to young children, it is
at tho same time Die mobt effectual remedy that can
be given for incipient consumption, and the dan
gerous affections of the throat and lungs. Asa pro
vision against midden attacks of Croup, it should
be kept on hand in every family, and indeed as all
are sometime Hiihject to colda and coughs, all
should be provided with this antidote for them.
Although settled t'onnumptlon is thought in

the most obstinate of them yield to it. When noth
