tember 30,1873, are furnished by
the Chief of the Bureau of Statistics
at Washington, and is therefore
wholly reliable. It is a very interest
ing comparison, inasmuch as Russia
has been the principal source of sup
ply of bread for England. The

States is now considered in excess of
