tions in their respective churches,

cessfully performed the oeration

young man named Roberts, a Urge

a wedge that was lieing driven in
to a log.
X. B. Standish, who on Tues
day it-turned from the Calapooia
mines, reKrts the snow knee deep
on the Summit mountain, and the
weather extremely cold. He brings
with him some samples of decoin

tunnel of the Lucky Boy, that is
very rich with gold, assays made
by the Everett Chemical works of
Ttcouia, giving leturns of $o to
the ton, with traces of silver. This
very favorable showing has
impressed the stockholders with
great faith in the paying qualities
of the L icky Boy, and as soon as
t'le weather will permit, a stamp
mill will Ire created and thoiough

amount of which is in sight and on
the dump.
The 8th, was pav day at the K.
W. M. Co, and $1500 was dis
bursed to operatives.
B F. Child-, on Monday left for
Seattle to dispose of 1000 head of
mutton sheep, which he has been
fattening on his ranch three miles
north of Brownsville.
Mis Maggie White, on Thursday
visited Albany, returned home on
the following Friday.
Mrs. Kane an't daughter of
Council Bluffs, Iowa, on Thursday
left to visit friends in Montana.
