Press Association, to consider the
Oregon exhibit for the World's
Fair at Chi ago, met at the Port
land in the city of Portland yester
day. There were present : Presi

The matter was fully discussed

Mr. Scott offered the following
resolution :
Resolved. That it is tlie sense

mittee of the Oregon Press Asso
ciation that we favor the plan of
appointing a state commission to
invpae an Oregon exhihit for the

in Chicago, anil hat we favor an
appropriation by the legislature of

The follow ing resolutions were
then unanimously adopted :
Resolved, That we favor the
organization of a permanent state
world's fair association, composed
of a commissioner appointed by

and expending such an appropria

It was moved and carried that

at the Chamber of Commerce con

Commissioner Wilkins was pres
ent. He said the furniture 'woods
to be exhibited at Chicago must
be procured this winter in order to
be thoroughly seasoned before
polished" He promised to furnish
a list of them on his return from
Chicago, that the collection may
