He is preparing to replenish and

The Columbian eays: Last
Friday the Jane A. Falkenberg ar
rived from the Ochotfk sea with
140.000 coltish, being the ninth
arrival for the present season,
and bringing up the total receipts
to 800,500 fish. There are yet four
vessels to arrive. The cjtch al
ready is somewhat heavier than
' hat for last year all told, and the
a'ches of the vessels yet to come
ISe.-e will be a very considerable
i lcrease over the aggregate of re
ceipts of the previous season. One
of the larg-.st fishing companies
has a station at the north and one
of their vessels has made three
trips up and back this season and

elicited lately over who was the
nrst child born in the city of Al
bany, and several Individuals have
been put forward as the ones to
whom the honor was due. Mr.
Louis Cox tells us that the honor
belongs to bis sister, Melissa Cox,
daughter of Anderson Ccx, who
was born on the old Cox home
stead in March J847. She mar
ried Hon. T.J. Smith and lived
to be 42 vears old.
