Croap Can Be Prevented.
We want every mother to know that
croup con be prevented. There is no
question about this: as it has been
done in thousands of cases, and you
may depend upon it that when a child
takes the ctoud it is wholly owing to
i the negligence ofits parents. True
croup never appears without due and
timely warning; a few hours or a day
! or two before the attack, the child be-

the disease. Under such circum
stances, or when not properly treated,
the hoarseness becomes more marked,
and the child shows shows symptoms
of having taken cold, then ft peculiar,
rrugh cough is developed. Even at
this stage Chamberlain's Cough Rem
edy will prevent the croup, but after
the cough has developed the croap is
hable to appear at any moment. The
proper way is to keep a bottle of this
remedy at hand, it costs but 50 cents,
and only a few doses, or at most nso
over a third of a bottle, is required to
dispei all symptoms of the disease
Can you afford to risk io much for o
little? There is not the least danger
in giving this remedy in large and
frequent dees, which are always re
quired, as it contains no injurious
substance. As proof of this fact we
refer to John L. Olson, of Des Moines,
whose 18 months-old boy drank the
entie contents of a 50 cent bottle of
Chamberlain's cough remedy without
the least injury. Certainly it made
the baby vomit very freely; but after
taking a nap he would have been glad
to have d rank another bottle of the
remedy, as he liked it. A similar in-
j stmce occurred ncai Valley Springs,
uaKot. Mrs, Alattie .Johnson's two-year-old
daughter, Annie, drank a full
bottle of the remedy without injury.
This remedy has been the sole re
liance of thousands of mothers for
croup, and especially as a preventive
lor many yearss, and has never been
known to fail. It is also invalua' le
for colds and whooping-cough, For
sale by Foshay & Mason.
Disarming an Enaeen Foe.
"This was sometime a paradox," as
Hamlet 6ays. Since, however, the
people of America and other .'.mils
have been enabled to pit Hostctter's
Stcmaah Bitters against that unseen
foe, malaria, it is no longer a paradox,
but an easy possibility. Whatever
malaria evolves its misty venom to
poison the air, and decaying unwhole
some vegetation iuprcgnater the
water, there, in the very 6tronghold
of miasma, is the auxiliary potent to
disarm the foe and assure efficient
