KiithusiaMU lulense in the Kasl,
A jirivate letter received from a
gentleman in Mew York states that
the people of Oregon have little
idea of the intense excitement now
being cauied on ;n New York, In
diana and Connecticut, three of
the doubtful states. Dr. J. "W.
Watts has been speaking in those
and is admonishing the people to
vote lor Harrison and Morton to
large crowds in every city where
he speaks. To illustrate the en
thusiasm, last Friday evening he
spoke to a crowded house in
Niautei, Conn., closing at 11 o'clock.
The audience was dismissed and
the speaker went to the hotel. The
crowd did not leave, however, and
at midnight he was waited upon
and asked to return to the hall,
where o(K'U) people had assembled,
which he did, and spoke until 1'
o'clock amidst die greatest excite
ment. Fvery effort is being made
to bring out every voter, ami all
the above named states are now
confidently expected to cast theii
rotes for the republican ticket.
