Bed and Board.
Jim Sajwall had passed a sleep
less night in a couatry hotel. As
he came down stairs he went to the
landlord and said:
"Mr. Landlord, I believe you ad
vertise to furnish bed and board?''
"Yes, sir."
"Well, every time I turned over
last night I struck the hard side of
a slat. I'm pretty ne8r dead this
morning, and as I've got to come
through this town again next
month I'd suggest that you make
it a little more bed and a little less
board ."
A Busy Lire.
busy banker
A verv busy banker was to be
married to an Omiha girl. The day
came, but the groom did not mater
ialize, and at nine a. ni. this telegram
, was received:
'"For Heaven's sake tell us what is
tie matter. This is your wedding
day, and the hour approaches."
He was scared half out of his wits,
and bounced around like a hen
with her head cut off. Then he
rushed to the telegraph office and
sent this answer:
"Thought I had three days of
grace. Don't let it go to protest
coming en the next train.''
The wedding was late, but it was
a merry one, and all was forgiven.
