Destruction Island, forty-five miles
south of Cape Flattery. Captain F,
W Holmes of the steamer Umatilla,
says that government is making a
mistake in erecting the lighthousaat
Destruction Island. He thought The
proper place was at Quinialt, where
there is a strong undercurrent, and
where mnny disasters occur.
