LAYIXG THE COKXEK STOE.
On Fnday, June 15, at 10 o'cloc
A. m., the interesting cerem ouy
?ayiug the corner stone of the m
nilicent exposition building and
zoological gardens of the North Pacific
Industrial Association will take place
vi Portland. This association, or
anizsd with a capital of $150,OUO.OO,
13 now erecting a mammoth building
Work on the structure will be pushed
forward day and night, and the
-building will be ready for the first
Annual exposition early the coming
fall. No expanse will be spared to
make this the grandesc display of the
industrial interests of the coast that
has ever betn attempted. Its con -vrehensive
scope and the prefec'ion
of detail give evidence that no merely
ordinary fair is in contemplation, and
he names connected with the enter-
prise are sufficient assurance
that it
-will be a complete success in every
feature. The whole northwest should
unite in a determination to make this
truly represt ntative of the vast in
terests f the region. Is will be a
wonderful aggregation.
The grand lodge of Masons of the
state of pregon has been invited to
ccuduct'the ceremonies, and Hon.
Oeo. H. Williams, of Portland, and
Hon. Elwood Evans, of Taeorna, will
be t te principal speakers.
