the background ; your book being
the thing of importance, if any,
and yourself a very secondary
consideration.
A man named Chaplain, of Ohio,
seems to have had the tallest
record yet made on the marrying
question. His list, according to
telegraplyc reports, include Miss
Cora Carson, of Greenville, Ind.,
Miss Nettie- Webster, living in a
small village in Southern Illinois,
Miss Clara Jones, of Fresno, Cal
ifornia, Miss Carrie E. Blank, of
Osage, Illinois,, Mrs. Snelk. of
Bowling Green, Kentucky, Mrs.
Flora Freyberger, of Ohio, in ad
dition to a wealthy woman, of
Columbus, Ohio, and a rich
planter's widow in Louisiana. He
was after coin it appears, as it is
said he garnered from $100 to flOOO
from each newly wedded wife.

man.
The poorest excuse for manhood
that can be found on this green
earth is the person who assumes
the marriage relations, and then
neglects to provide for his family.
A lady in Portland sues fr a
divorce, alleging in her complaint
that the deatli of her three chil
dren while infants was caused by
the neglect of the husband to care
and provide for his wife and help
less little ones, preferring to spend
his time at the gaming table.
Certainly if any sufficient cause
for divorce can be found that lady
recites it.
