3f ;ilhcur and llarucv Lake.
A party or gentlemen tmui (Jrow
camp recently had a ioatronstruct
e 1 to explore Malheur and Haruey
lakes. They launched their boat
in the 24th of November. The
freeze up, however, preveuted the
uarry from proceeding in their boat.
They went on foot some distance
b:!ow Pelican island, about twenty
five miles from Burns, .where they
discovered another island about
three miles long. They named it
Guano island. This place seerrs to
be a paradise for sportsmen- in the
spring and summer. There are
deer on the island. As soon :is the
break up in the spring occurs the
Crow campers propose to tborougl -iy
explore both Malheur and Hai
ney lakes for tur-beaiing animals.
