Egyptian Lectures
The Lyons Store Also Changed Hands-
Rev. K. V. Millard, (formerly a
citizen of Coquille) has be< n lectur
ing and preaching in the Church
of Redeemed Israel, duriug the past
week.
The meetings have been
largely attended.
The people of
our community kuow that Mr. Mil
lard has had the privilege of seeing
the world as it is today, and they
like to hear his plain, practical,
common sense way of putting thiugs,
when he tells of the manners, cus
toms and present condition of tbe
people of Egypt, England, Swit
zerland, Greece, Italy, Spain or
France. Mr. Millard has recently
returned from a year’s travel aud
study in Africa, Europe and Britain,
He spent the past winter and spring
in Egypt, and studied among the
great ruins and palaces and pyra
mids aloDg the Nile.
He saw the
sights in many countries.
He was
in London for seven weeks and saw
the coronation of King Edward;
but he was more deeply interested
in Egypt than in any other country
or people, and his lectures have in
terested our community as but few
persons have the power to interest
them. He will attend the World’s
Fair at St. Louis,
and the best
wishes of a large part of our com
munity go with him. •
