car went outside to the fishing
grounds last Monday, and met with
splendid success. The catch repre­
sented 22 halibut, 4 ling, and 3 red
fish, being 2!) in all.
The largest
halibut weighed from 45 to 50 lbs.
On the next morning Captain
Butler and crew, of the tug Triumph
and Tom Lewis, Reter Nelson and
Donald Charleson weut, outside to
the fishing ground on the tug and
Keeper Johnson and crew from the
station went out afterwards iu the
surtboat.
The station crew came in first in
the evening having caught 14 hali­
but, !) ling, 3 salmon and 2 rodfisb,
making a total of 28 fish.
A few minutes later the tug
steamed up to the wharf with the
largest amount of fish ever taken
here at one catch with the hook and
line,
The tug’s crew and their associa­
tes, seven in all, had taken 157 hali­
but, 10 ling and 0 redfish, in all, 173
representing a weight of about three
tons. The largest of the halibut
taken weighed about 80 pounds.
This day’s fishing was a success
and bents nil past records at this
place. There was fish for every­
