Iu honor of the day the school pre
paired quite an eiteusive program,
much of which was conducted out
side iu the shad* o f tbe school-
house. Tho raising of the 56 foot
pole formed quite an item of inter
est nnd whan, at last, the flag was
slowly drawn to the top, it w h s
gueted with a most enthusiastic
round of cheering, in which the
girls as well as the boys proved
their ability. Tho tv»y in which
the children joined in singing“ The
Red, White and Blue” aud other
patiiotic songs, showed that the
proper spirit was uot wanting.
The Dora school is uow eutering
upon the fifth month of its session.
The pupils edit it school paper,
which is rend every Friday nfter-
uoou and has proven quite a center
of attraction to the neighborhood,
ns well ns a source of pleasure and
profit to the pupils themselves.
