official, that the cradle used for
building the Robertson raft is still
in evidence, opposite Porter, though
it was “ officially removed” a few
years ago.
Hogue ltiver yesterday, on a busi­
ness visit, returning today. He is
interested in a copper mine in tbe
Rognc River mountains, which is
the best yet found in southwest
Oregon, nnd although no well-de­
fined ledge has yet been devel
oped, a sufficient qunntitity of ore
of high value lias beeu uncovered
to justify the beginning of mining
and shipment. With the advent of
spring a small sized mining boom
will strike Rogue River.
