A FATAL CUTTING SCRAPE.
At the North Fork school, known
hest as the Moon district, near
Fairview, last Saturday night, a
fatal cutting scrape was enacted be
tween two youths of the neighbor
hood, resulting iu the almost in
stant death o f one and placing the
brand of a criminal on the other.
In view of 6uly rumors being iu
circulation regarding the origin of
the feud and the sad result os wo
go to press, while the examining
trial is set for 1 o'clock today be
fore Magistrate Cecil, we withhold
comment and. merely make men
tion of the fact of the occurrence
aud the parties engaged.
The school is the one presided
over by our charming young

and the affray was between pupils
of the school and youth of the
neighborhood. The one who was
killed was Roy Hollenbeck, aged
about 17 years, and the stabbing
was doue by Guy Beckwith, aged
18 years.
It appears the fuss
broke out, at least in its violent
form, after the adjournment o f the
literary society Saturday night
near 11 o’clock, and was over some
rearrangement o( the blackboard
in the schoolroom at a prior time.
For farther details we shall await
the preliminary trial.

early Sunday morning.
