I. O. G. T.,
ON TH E DEATH OF MRS. MCOKMAC.
To the bereaved husband and family
of our deceased sister, Mrs. Mary
McCormac, the committee reports
the following:
Whereas, God in his infinite wis
dom has been pleased to summon
from our midst and from the cares
and anxieties of this life our be
loved sister, Mrs. Mary McCormac,
who until a few days before her
death wa* apparently enjoying all
the fulness of health that a woman
in the pride of her youth can well
enjoy, but was caught with the pre
vailing disease and was carried
away; and,
Whereas, Her sudden departure
from this life hns been a severe
shock to her sorrowing husband
and two motherless children, also
to her father who had intended
making his home in this life with
her, having but lately been bereft
of liis wife also by death; and,
Whereas, Her absence iong shall
be fell in our lodgs room, she hav
ing been an earneet and enthusi
astic worker in the cause of temper
ance since our lodge began, taking
great interest,in the literary work,
fer which she was well adapted, be
ing especially good in elocution,
and having a mind well stored with
choice selections aud ever ready
when called upon to respond, en
deared herself to the hearts of all
the members, but now that voice is
stilled; that heart that we had all
lenrned to love lies slumbering in
the grave; her form shall long be
missed from its accustomed place in
our lodge room, but her memory in
our hearts can uever be effaced; and,
Whereas, In her death our com
munity has lost a valued friend nnd
neighbor, her greatest care being
tho welfare of others, aud having
spent most of her life amongst the
people here was well and favorably
known, her cheerfulness and kind
disposition gaining for her the con
fidence and love of the whole com
munity; therefore be it
Resolved, While we bow in sub
mission to the will of our Heavenly
Father, who sendeth the rain aud
sunshine alike upon the just aud
the unjust, and who doeth all things
well, that we extend to the bereaved
husband and family our sincere nnd
heartfelt sympathy at this their
hour of sore affliction, and may
t icy find thnt peace and comfort to
their wounded hearts that is so
freely given to those that put their
trust in the Lord. Be it also
Resolved, That our lodge, which
has just emerged from grief, be
again in mourning and our charter
draped for tho space of 30 days.
