HORSE FAIR.
HE JACKSON COUNTY HORSE FAIR
will commence Thursday, the 27th of Octo­
ber, 1870, and continue for three days. The
lowing is the programme for the occasion :
T
FIRST DAY—Single dash of one mile
for all two year old colts—1st premium $75 ; 2nd
$25. Also a single dash of one-half mile—free for
all—premium $50.
SECOND DAY—Stalilon trotting race,
3 and 5, for all stallions raised and owned in the
county—1st premium $75 ; 2nd $25. Also a sad­
dle horse display—premium a tine set of harness.
THIRD DAY—Three year old race—
mile heats, 2 and 3—1st premium $75: 2nd $25.
Also the following premiums will be awarded :
Best draft stallion, $11) ; best brood mare and colt,
$10 ; best stallion of all work, $10 ; best mare of
all work, $10.
A tine saddle premium will be awarded each
/lay.
10 per cent, entrance on all premiums, ex­
cept the Harness and Saddle premiums, required.
In all the above premiums three to enter and two
to start. The Fair will be held at the Bybee
Track. Thorough preparations have been made,
and it is therefore expected to reflect great credit
wn the stock raisers of the county.
