says; Raging blizzards drifting snow,
rain and sleet are scourging Eastern

Norte county, California together
and that Ryan had money and Gol
lihar did not, thus the motive of the
murder was supposed to have beer,
robbery Gollihar, however protests
his innocence and says he can prove
that he was absolutely alone when
he left the logging camp, and can
prove by the ferryman on the Chetco
that he was alone when he crossed
the river.
He was taken to Co
quille Friday, after having been in
the Bandon city jail over night, and
questioned bv Deputy Prosecuting
Attorney Liljeqvist, and was then
taken down to Gold Beach, Sheriff
Tyler leaving here Sunday morn
ing with him.
All the evidence
against Gollihar is circumstantial
and it remains to be seen whether
there is sufficient of that to convict
him, although Sheriff Tyler rather
thinks he has the right man.

petition to get it before the people
at an election, and you will surely
be asked to vote for it when the
time for election comes, It is the
one thing to do now to help our-
selves. I f we establish a port com-
mission, we can go to the govern
ment and say; “Here we are doing
something to help ourselves and
now we want you to do something
for us. This is what the Siuslau
and Coos Cay have done and the
result is that Siusl.iw gets $426,000,
and Coos Bay $400,000 while th«

work, and it is now up to the peo
ple to do their part. Talk for it,
boost for it, and everything will
come out all right.
