SURVEY WORK RAPIDLY PROGRESSING
WILL BE GREATEST EVER IN COUNTY
At a meeting of the business men
of Bandon in E. E. Oakes' real es
tate office Tuesday evening then
was much enthusiasm over the carni
val which is to be held in Septem
ber, as well as other projects that
are now under headway. The com
mittee elected to arrange for the
carnival was not all present, owing
to other business engagements which
demanded their ¡attention, but those
pr 'sent reported that good progress
was being made.
Several other projects were dis
cussed at the meeting which cannot
be made public at Jthis time, but
which, when developed, will be of
incalcuable value to the city. The
meeting adjourned to meet again
next Tuesday night, at which time
every business man and citizen in the
city who is interested in the city's
development is earnestly urged to
be present.
The local W. O. W. lodge is

has been in Bandon for a few' days
and has stretched a big banner
across First street with the usual
‘‘Welcome Visitors” on its face.
The lodge is ¡busy at work, prepar
ing tor the big event and prospects
now are that the biggest class of
candidates ever initiated in a lodge
in Coos county will be taken through
the mysteries of the ‘‘wood chop
pers” on this occasion. Mr. Tich-
enor, general organizer, who was
herein the early part of July, will
return in August and assist in boost
ing for the big log rolling. The na
tional officets of the lodge will also
be here and have charge of the af-
tair. This will be the first time the
national officers oi any fraternal or
ganization have ever been in Coos
county and the event will be look
