M KTIER KEPT BOAT ON COAST
While at San Francisco on her
last trip the steamer Elizabeth had
her new cabin, which was mentioned
in the R ecorder some time ago,
put on and now she has first class
accomodations for nine more pas­
sengers, with state rooms opening
outside.
The state rooms are
large and commodious and are fit
ted up with all the modern con­
veniences of boats on the coast.
The Elizabeth is one of the best
kept vessels plying along the Pacific
coast, and is manned with as good
a crew as can be found anywhere.
She was built to run between the
Goquille river and San Francisco
and the has never gone anywhere
else, but has been on this run now
for five years, making regular trips,
whether business conditions were
good or not. Bandonians are all
proud of the Elizabeth and are glad
of the fact that business is so good
for her as to make Mr. Kruse feel
ified in putting on the new im
which not only adds to

The Elizabeth arrived in port
Tuesday evening with several pas-
seugers on board and about 250 tons
of freight.
Cramer Stock Co.
The Cramer Stock Co. made
their first appearance at the Bandon
opera house last Friday evening,
and played to a well filled house.
Mr. Cramer, himself, is so well
known here that his work needs no
introduc ion, but suffice tosaythat
as Brown in the great comedy My
Friend Brown, he kept the h<mse in
convulsions of laughter fron^astart
to finish.
The entire trouj e are
real artists in their work and they
will no doubt be greeted with well
iMed houaes at every performance.
They will be here again Friday
evening of this week and will play
A Southern Jack Rose. After next
Friday they will appear here on
Wednesday of each week.
Council
The city council of Bandon met in
regular session at the city hall Tues­
day evening and went through with
the regular routine of business,
which in this instance was mostly
for street improvement.
The council intends to make an
aggressive street campaign, and im
prove the streets just as fast as
money and demands will warrant.
After considerable discussion of
various subjects several motions
were put through, among which
was a motion to open Columbia
Avenue from Atwater St. to the
county road, the owner of the prop
•rty having designated his willing­
ness to give a quit claim deed to
the right-of-way providing the city
would batld the street.

purpose, this idea was unanimously
concurred in by all members of the
council present.
