BRILLIANT SUCCESS
PASSES AWAY
The Knights of Pythias ball given
at Oriental Hall Saturday night was
a brilliant success in every particular,
despite the fact that the weather
was decidedly nufovorable.
The Knight's ball is always look
ed forward to as one of the great
est social events of the season, and
the ball Saturday night was the 14th
time that this order has “made
good” by entertaining the people
evenbeoynd their anticipations.
A special train load had intended
to come from Coos Bay, but owing
to the inclement weather the idea
was abandoned, but as it was
Oriental hall was crowded to over
flowing.
Promptly at 9 p. m. the grand
march started oft led by Mr. and
Mrs. C. E. HollopetT and second
ed by I)r. and Mrs. L. P. Sorensen.
The hall was beautifully decorated
in blue, yellow and red, the colors
of the lodge and in addition the
brake which} grows so luxuriantly
around Bandon was very effectively
used.
At midnight supper was served at
Craine’s boarding house, where an
elaborate spread was enjoyed by all.
Dancing continued until 2:30, when
at the conclusion of No. 23, every -
body wended their way homeward.

Heney is Better
Reports from San Francisco as
late as Monday of this week are to
the effect that the Graft Prosecutor
Heney is improving constantly and
his condition is such now that he is

It is to be hoped that he will com

them where they belong.
Building Continues
Building in Bandon continues at a
rapid rate, there are a number of
new residences under construction
at the present time besides a couple
of bu iness housesand the tine $30,-

in the development of the citv is the
improvements of the streets that is
constantly going on.
Some have
the idea that nothing in this line is
being done, but it must I m ? remem
