Logan-Dwiggin*.
Last Saturday evening, Verne R.
Dwiggins and Lena Lucia Logan
were united in marriage at the home
of the bride’s parents, Mr. and .Mrs.
W. H. Logan. The house was
prettily decorated with flowers and
ivy, and at eight o’clock the young
couple were joined in holy wedlock
by Rev. George Roach of the Pres
byterian church.
The bride is one of Bandon's well-
known young ladies, who has lived
here for the past several years with
her parents. She has beer, engaged
as teacher in one of the lower grades
in our public school, and will con
tinue for this term at least. The
groom is a new arrival in Bandon.
He comes from a well-known family
of Finley, Ohio. His connection
with the new light and power com
pany which is now building here,
brought him to this country, and
since his arrival has made many
friends.

rooms in the double house on
Atwater street, where they immedi
ately commenced housekeeping. The
union came as a surprise to their
many acquaintances, as the engage
ment had been kept a secret until
but a few days before the ceremony.

council was called for last Friday
night, and several important matters
were decided, among which was the
decision regarding Columbia avenue
and the granting of a license to the
Gambrinus Brewing Co. for the pui -
pose of retailing liquor in any quan
tity.
Work on Columbia avenue has
progressed to such an extent that it
was deemed advisable to lay the re
monstrance on the table and continue
with the work as originally intended.
This will open up that street full
width and provide for a grade which
was lately established by the city
engineer.
The improvement will
add greatly to the valuation of the
property, and it was only a question
of time when the work would have
