A close call to a serious accident
happened at Wedderburn one day
recently as a result of a joke. After
the six o’clock whistle had blown in
the evening one of the cannery
hands lit his pipe as he walked
leisurely to his supper, w hen in the
midst of the joy his pipe exploded,
lacerating his lips and startling his
companions who were struck by
some of the fragments.
After the
first moments exitement one of the
party picked up a warm 22 caliber
soft nose steel jacket bullet which
