Editor Bandon R ruo BDCR Set-
ing an article in the R ecorder from
the pen of Geo. W. Axtell in which
he willfully lies, I beg space in your
paper to correct the sajne.
Mr.
Axtell states that 1 wasj appointed
Deputy State Warden prior to the
time 1 killed the deer on that pros
pecting trip, w hich is false as my
commission shows, but then any
one acquainted with Mr. Axtell’s
standing for truth and veracity in
the community will not be surprised
at his mistatements of facts.
The
fact that Mr. Axtell has twice been
arrested for violating the Game law
and both times made atfiadavit for a
change of venure from the District
where he resides, is proof that he
himself recognizes his standing in
the community, his standing is such
that he is afraid to trust his trial to a
jury of his neighbors. We are will

respect with Mr. Axtell
