Arthur Rockwell, the twelve year
old son of Mr. Rockwell, bad a nar­
row escape from losing bis arm last
Saturday afternoon. He was hauling
chunks of wood with a rope twisted a
couple of limes around the elevator
shaft, and in some way caught his
arm and the rope tightened about it
in sucli a manner as to pull the end of
his thumb oil at the first joint. He
was taken to the office of Dr. Houston
who had to amputate the balance of

There will he a big excursion down
from Marshfield this coming Sunday.
1'tie boat will be in Bandon about
11 o’clock and the day will be spent
on the beach. This is the first of the
regular summer excursions and the
advance reports are to the effect, that
it will be unusually large. The Lib­
erty will bring down the crowd of
merry makers, and will return late in
the afternoon.
Onr beach and the beautiful scenery
has a big attraction for the excursion
ist and for an ideal day of enjoyment,
come to Bandon. You will gel a
breath of fresh air that will pay for
the trip alone.
The excursion is given under the
auspices of the Marshfield hand who
will make their initial appearance
The train leaves Marshfield at 8
o’clock in the morning and return
boat leaves Bandon al 7 o’clock in
evening The Bandon Band will
probably meet tho boat at the wharf
in the morning.

etery, in front of the Hall and will be
