Don’t go to the theatre, lecture or ball.
Bat itHf in your room to-night;
Deny yourself to the friend« that call,
And a good long letter write—
Write to the and old folk« at borne.
Who ait, wueu the day is done,
With folded Landa and downcast Byes,
And think of the absent one.
Write fhem a letter to-night.
Don’t selfishly scribble, “Excuse my baste,
I’ve scarcely time to write,”

back
To many a bygone night,
Wheu they lost their needed sleep and rest.
And every breath whs a prayer
That God would leave their delicate babe
To their tender love and oh re.
Write them a letter to-night.
Don’t think that the young aud giddy
f Fiends
Who make your pastime gay,
Have half the anxious thoughts for you.
That the old folks have to day.
For the sad old folks at homo.
With looks fajt turning white.
Are longing to hear of the absent one—
Oh. write them h h Iter to-night!
Of all the l<»ve ntTnirs in I ho world,
none can surjnrs the trno L>ve of a
big boy for Lis mot L it . It is a true
love and noble, LonoraLle in the high
est degree to both. \\ e do nut tnoan
merely a dutiful affection; we mean a
love which malice a l oy gallant and
courteous to his mother, saying to
everyone plainly that Le is fairly in
love with ber. W e never yet knew a
boy to ‘‘turn out” bad w bo began by
falling in love with his mother.
It is a touching thought that those
who grow up together in childhood,
sit at the same table and hi the same
fireside, may, in after life, be separat
ed by seas and continents, or by the
valley of death. This r< fl«*rth n
should tend to make them affectionate
and kind to one another so long i . b
they are united under one roof. It is
a pleasant sight to I eb< l i u family
dwelling together in peace aud unity
and gladness. Neither the poet n r
paiuter can Inscribe a happier scene.
O;ie impatient mmn'wr of the horn«
circle is a wet blanket on the happi
ness of all. There is a sublime beau
ty in a patient life; in a life couien;
with ftlie work that has fallen to it.
From the leaves of the trees the im
patient ones may tin I a beautiful les
son. They were not created this
spring, but months ago, and the sura
mer now upon ns „ill fashion others
for another year, At the bottom of
every leaf stem is a cradle, and in it
is an infant germ; and the wind will
rock it. and the birds will sing to it
all sniuiD-r long, and next season it
will unfold. So God is workiug for
yon and carrying forward to the per
fect development all the processes of
your lives. Be patient.

The doctors pro
nounced it Bright’s disease and
others said it was consumption.

bought a bottle. I believe that
it saved n>y life. I believe many
women could save much suffer
