The coroner's inquest brought out
testimony tending to establish the
following facts; a pretty innocent
baby girl was born thtit. afternoon to
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Steele, who were
married on the '3rd uf last April. To
hide their shame which seemed to
have been greatly magnified in their
own imaginations, I ho parents (the
coroner's jury says the father) killed
I ho child by crushing its skull to a
jelly, wrapping it in gunny sacks, and
concealing it iu a clothes closet with
the evident mtention of putting it
where it could not be found when the
shades of night would couceal their
