in the Game—Tee Slew.
Tbe Bandon Baseball Team accom
panied by Jack Home and bia bunch
of lusty lunged rooters, journeyed, to
Marshfield last Sunday to meet tba
team of that town.
Aa each team bad defeated North
Bend and Coquille in turn, and were
consequently tied for first place in
Coos county League race, a warm
game waa anticipated.
Somehow or other tbe "‘bay
leaguers" could not connect witb*’our
only spider” when hits meant runs
while tbe Baodonians bunched their
bits and were aided somewhat by the
lose playing back of Wright.
A large crowd waa in attendance
but tbe Marshfield rooters never bad
a chance to show what they ware
capable of doing, except the little
“kidding" handed our boys during
their practice. Thia waa soon quieted
however when tbe Flying Dutchmen
made some of bis pbenominal stops.
For the Marsh fielders Lob, Boyn
ton, Nadler and Jacobs did good work
in the field and with the stick. Iberg,
although be missed a couple of hard
chances, played a good game and got
two corking drives off tbe “Spider’s'’
puzzling delivery.
Tbe Baodon team all played good
ball and Captain Streib’s home run
on tbe right field fence was a dandy.
Banm also hit a long drive but was
unfortunate in not touching ths sec
ond base or he would also have been
credited with a bomer, Schofield
played right field and bit like a “Turk. ’
Some of his running catches would
have done credit to “big leagnere.''
Below we give tbe tabulated score
of the game.
