Rev. Mr. Mosaer of Oakland. Douglas
county, aocompained by his friend Rev. Mr.
Holsinger also a Presbyterian minister
arrived here lately. They rode down on
their bicycles an 1 were the two first that
ever traveled so far, (one hundred mile«) on
bicycles to our beach and over one of
the worst roads in the whole state, from
Roseburg to Myrtle Point. They were
fjrent'y pleased with their visit here and
raid they would probably be here again thia
season.

On Monday last the Sth instour maximam
tempeiatuj in tbe shade was 78 (seventy­
eight). This high figure has not been ex­
ceeded here for a great many years.
Mrs. Cnpt. Parker of Parkersburg, no'
oompained by Mrs. Swan, of San Francisco,
wio is visiting with Mrs. Parker this sum­
mer, visited Bandon on last Monday.
Mr. Webber, father of Mrs. Capt. Lock

The schooner Ralph J. Long crossed in

Cbas. A. Craddock has succeeded Mrs'
Tenbrook as agent, at this place, for the
Coos Bay Steam Laundry. Parties sending
artiolea to the laundry should leave them
there in time for the Monday morning boat
so that they can be returned on Friday.
Mr. Danielson, wbo has tbe contract of
bnilding the new oannery is pushing the
work along as fast as possible. The ml-
chiney arrived this week and will be put in
place as soon as tbe building ia ready. It ia
the intention to have it ready for the fall
catch of fish.
The beautiful little oantata, "The flower
queen" was rendeied at Armory Hall on last
Tuesday evening by a number of the yonng
ladies and Misses of Bandon in a very pleas­
ing manner. The attendance was not large
but those present seemed well pleased with
the entertainment.
On 27th of last month, the maximum
temperature in the shade was ' . (ninty-six .
On the same date on our bench the maxi­
mum temperature was only fi2 (sixty-two)
the difference between the maximum tern-
peratnre in both places being no less than
E(thirty-four) degrees.
Miss Sanderlin, a daughter, of Rev. Mr.
Sandsrlin, arrived in Bandon on last Friday
evening direct from Ohio. A very touching
scene was witnessed by those who stood on
the dock when she stepped from the boat
and met ber younger sister whom she had
not seen for eight years. She wan driven
immediately out to tbe home of ber father.
The Bandon band boys have made ar­
rangements with Prof. W. W. Robertson to
remain with them until October, and con-
tinue to train them. If they r. ake the pro-
greas in the next three months that they
have made in tbe last they will be the beet
trained performers in Coos county. Prof.
Robertson is certainly a success in drilling
