Students of the month
The Tribe’s Youth Enrichment Program hayu-munk skukum
has implemented student of the month awards for K-2, 3-5, middle
and high school students. The students of the month for April were
named in May.
Aven Cox, 16, was chosen as high
school student of the month for
good citizenship, making his
schoolwork a priority and taking
his education seriously.
Ila Mercier, 10, was chosen as
student of the month for grades
3-5 for leadership and always
having a great attitude and
helping peers follow directions.

Clothes Closet open
The Clothes Closet is open from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 2 p.m. every
Friday on the Tribal campus near the Elders Activity Center at the end
of Blacktail Drive. The Clothes Closet accepts clothing, small appliances
and pieces of furniture, electronics and household goods that are clean
and in good condition. It does not accept books, large TVs or furniture,
but there is a community board where people can post those items. For
more information or emergency clothes, contact Lori Walker-Hernandez
at 559-847-7565. n

Kaliska Gibbons, 7, was chosen
as student of the month for
grades K-2 for good citizenship,

classroom and helping her
friends follow the rules.
